邁克爾·阿蒂亞，英國人，1929年4月22日出生於英國倫敦，1948年考入劍橋大學，1952年獲學士學位，1955年獲博士學位，1958年至1961年任該校講師 1961年至1963年任牛津大學研究員，1963年成為幾何學講座教授，1969年至1972年任美國普林斯頓高等研究院教授，1972年回到牛津大學任數學研究所教授，1974年至1976年任英國倫敦數學會主席，阿蒂亞在數學上做出了許多重要貢獻。目錄
