Tan Ping， born in May 1961， is from Wusheng， Sichuan Province He graduated from Sichuan University where he completed a graduate program in history Tan is currently a professor， director of the Research Institute of Tianfu Culture， and director of the Center for Urban Cultural Studies and Communication at Chengdu University， where he previously served as dean of the College of Literature and Journalism He concurrently serves as an academic member of the SicHuan History Research Institute of Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences， Ba-Shu Culture Research Institute of Sichuan Normal University， and Yang Shen Research Institute of Sichuan University， the director of the academic committee of Sichuan Wu Zetian Research Center， the president of Chengdu Tianfu Culture Heritage and Development Association， and the vice president of Chengdu Internet Culture Association， Sichuan Li Bin Research Association， and Sichuan Yang Shen Research Association He has published more than 80 papers， 8 monographs， 2 literary works， and won 7 provincial and municipal government awards in philosophy and social sciences In 2014， he was awarded the title of National Outstanding Social Science Popularization Expert
