本卷收錄了俞吾金先生生前發表和未發表的外文文章，包括從中文論文轉譯為外文的文章和直接以外文發表的文章，共計29篇。其中1篇為日文，1篇為德文，其餘27篇為英文。編者將這些文章分為「對於馬克思主義哲學的詮釋（Interpretations of Marxist Philosophy）」「對一些哲學話題的批判性分析（Critical Analysis of Philosophical Topics）」「對當代中國文化的批判性分析（Critical Analysis of Contemporary Chinese Culture）」及「短論」（Short Essays）四個部分。編者對原文文字進行了校訂，並對原文中出現的馬克思恩格斯經典文獻的英文譯文進行了核對。

作者簡介

俞吾金教授是我國著名哲學家，1948年6月21日出生於浙江蕭山，2014年10月31日因病去世。生前任復旦大學文科資深教授、哲學學院教授，兼任復旦大學學術委員會副主任暨人文學術委員會主任、復旦大學學位委員會副主席暨人文社科學部主席、復旦大學國外馬克思主義與國外思潮研究中心（985國家級基地）主任、復旦大學當代國外馬克思主義研究中心（教育部重點研究基地）主任、復旦大學現代哲學研究所所長；擔任教育部社會科學委員會委員、教育部哲學教學指導委員會副主任、國務院哲學學科評議組成員、全國外國哲學史學會常務理事、全國現代外國哲學學會副理事長等職；曾任德國法蘭克福大學和美國哈佛大學訪問教授、美國Fulbright高級講座教授。俞吾金教授是全國哲學界首位長江學者特聘教授、全國優秀教師和國家級教學名師。俞吾金教授是我國八十年代以來在哲學領域最具影響力的學者之一，生前和身後出版了包括《意識形態論》《從康德到馬克思》《重新理解馬克思》《問題域的轉換》《實踐與自由》《被遮蔽的馬克思》等在內的30部著作（包括合著），發表了400餘篇學術論文，在哲學基礎理論、馬克思主義哲學、外國哲學、國外馬克思主義、當代中國哲學文化和美學等諸多領域都有精深研究，取得了令人囑目的成就，為深入推進當代中國哲學研究做出了傑出和重要的貢獻。
