內容簡介

本書是影印版。《羅馬帝國社會經濟史》一書迄今被西方學術界公認為權威性的著作。作者米哈伊爾·伊凡諾維奇·羅斯托夫采夫運用把西方的歷史學、經濟學和社會學相結合的研究方法。他以大量碑銘、錢幣、建築遺址、器皿、葦紙卷等文物作為依據，結合古代羅馬作家的著述，概述了羅馬帝國時期的義大利和外省的社會經濟狀況，提出了關於羅馬帝國興衰原因的看法。他的看法受到了西方社會經濟史學界的重視，被認為自成一派，以區別於那些把奴隸佔有主與奴隸之間的對抗及其尖銳化作為羅馬帝國衰亡的基本原因，所以蘇聯一些學者把羅斯托夫采夫對羅馬帝國社會經濟史的研究稱為「現代派」。
